Day 5 of the vigil against isolation in Athens

Vigil in Athens in solidarity with hunger strikes is on day 5.

The vigil launched in Greek capital Athens to protest the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and to call attention to the hunger strike protests, continues on the 5th day.

The vigil promoted by the Greek Action Union Northern Kurdistan-Turkey Platform is held at the Syntagma Square.

A tent was set up in the square with the participation of leftist organisations from Turkey and Kurdistan. The tent was covered with a huge poster of Öcalan and flags of PKK, KCDK-E, HBDH and HPG, as well as a banner with photos of hunger strike activists.

Demonstrators are handing out flyers in Greek and English languages informing about the goal of the massive hunger strike protest against the isolation of the Kurdish leader.

The action will be taking place from 12 to 7 pm every day at the Syntagma Square where the Parliament of Greece is located.

Speaking to the press, activists stated that; “Our actions will continue to grow until the isolation is broken and demands are met.”
