Day 52 of the resistance in Strasbourg

During the past 51 days thousands of people from different European states have visited the hunger strikers in Strasbourg.

The indefinite hunger strike in the French city of Strasbourg to protest the isolation of Kurdish people’s leader, Abdullah Ocalan, is on the 52nd day.

14 Kurdish activists on an indefinite and non-alternating hunger strike in Strasbourg include the co-chair of Kurdish Democratic Society Congress in Europe (KCDK-E), Yüksel Koç.

During the past 51 days thousands of people from different European states have visited the hunger strikers in Strasbourg. Despite their deteriorating health states, the activists continue to welcome the visitors.

Kurds from the cities of Bern, Aarau and Zurich in Switzerland, Hamburg, Koln, Bremen, Kassel, Heilbronn and Pforzheim in Germany yesterday visited the hunger strikers at Kurdish Democratic Society Center (DTKM) in Strasbourg.

Partisan members expressed solidarity

A group of Partisan members visited the DTKM office in Strasbourg to express their solidarity. Three Partisan members spoke with one of the hunger strikers, Nimet Sevim to learn more about the action.

The Partisan members expressed their support for the campaign against Ocalan’s isolation, and commented on peoples’ joint struggle.

Activists on hunger strike in Strasbourg

The Kurdish activists joining the indefinite hunger strike in Strasbourg since December 17, 2018 are; former HD MP Dilek Ocalan, politicians Mustafa Sarikaya and Mehmet Nimet Sevim, journalist Gülistan Çiya İke, academic from East Kurdistan, Kardo Bokani, KCDK-E co-chair Yüksel Koç, politician from South Kurdistan, Mohamme Ghaderi, and activists Deniz Sürgüt, Ekrem Yılmaz, Nurgül Başaran, Ramazan İmir, Ayvaz Ece, Agit Ural and Kerem Solhan.
