A member of the DBP municipal assembly, Savaş Karataş, was seriously wounded after being stabbed 4 times in an assault in the Mutki district of Bitlis province by brothers of the former AKP mayor, Vahdettin Barlak.

Ömer and Serdar Barlak, who are the brothers of Vahdettin Barlak, the former mayor of Mutki, stopped the vehicle of Savaş Karataş (33), and attacked him with a knife yesterday in the Mutki district of Bitlis. The assault occurred after disagreements in the Toki neighbourhood.

Savaş Karataş was stabbed 4 times in the back and seriously injured. He was taken to the Mutki state hospital and after initial medical intervention he was transferred to the Bitlis state hospital.

The brothers of the former mayor of Mutki stabbed a lawyer in the district during the local elections.
