DBP: They will see that they can’t stop us

The DBP said the appointment of new trustees is “another declaration of war against the Kurdish people” and added: “They cannot stop us like this. We will not recognize the trustee.”

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) issued a written statement against the usurpation of HDP’s Amed, Van and Mardin Metropolitan Municipalities and the detention of over four hundred people.

DBP said hundreds of Kurdish politicians and dozens of party administratives, including Central Executive Committee Member Sevim Adsoy and Caucus Members Tahir Ozdemir and Suat Aslan, have been detained in the unlawful political coup by the AKP and MHP.

DBP said the removal of mayors who won 63 percent of the vote in Amed, 56 percent in Mardin and 53 percent in Van was “a new declaration of war against the Kurdish people’s struggle for democracy.”

“THEY CAN’T STOP US LIKE THIS”

The DBP said: “The main purpose of these operations against our party and the HDP, of which we are a constituent, in the aftermath of the 2019 elections is to disband Kurdish politics. They think they can stop us through detentions and arrests, but they will come to understand that the peoples’ faith in freedom, labor, peace and democracy cannot be ended.

We stress this one more time, we will not recognize the trustees, we do not accept them. The government must return from this wrongful step at once.”
