DBP will be at the border during Eid
The Party of Democratic Regions (DBP) has issued a statement marking the Eid today, saying: “While there is an attempt to massacre our people, we cannot celebrate Eid”, and called on all the people to be in unity in Suruç with the people of Kobanê.
The statement drew attention to the ongoing attacks of ISIS gangs on Kobanê and continued:“All people of Kobanê, young, elderly, women and men are displaying a heroic resistance against the barbarity of ISIS gangs. We call on all of our people to step up the honour struggle that has become the hope not only of Kurdistan but of the whole world since 15 September 2014.”
DBP further drew attention to the attacks of the AKP government on the people holding a vigil at the border in the Suruç district of Urfa and added: “While the AKP government deems this violence suitable for our people, it turns a blind eye to the passage of ISIS members across the border”.
Emphasising that DBP is part of the Kobanê resistance, not merely a supporter of it, the statement continued: “All our party members and the patriotic people must take ownership of the resistance more than ever now as the attacks turn more violent. The Kobanê resistance is the key point of the solution of many problems and conflicts in the Middle East as well as being the knot where the Kurdish Liberation struggle will obtain results. It must be known that the knot will be untied not by the hegemonic states and the ISIS gangs, but by our people and the resistance”.
Calling on all the people of Kurdistan to flock from the cities, towns, neighbourhoods and villages to Suruç, DBP stressed that everyone must take part in this resistance in solidarity and unity with the people of Kobanê.
DBP said there will be no Eid celebrations in the buildings of the party as the people of Kobanê face a threat of massacre, calling once again on all the people to step up the resistance at the border.
