The Kurdish district of Shex Meqsûd has been under heavy artillery fire from the syrian military since the last eight days. Two Kurdish civilians were killed during today’s attack. Nearly a dozen civilians have fell victim to the latest bombardments.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights the preliminary death toll for5 April was as follow: more than 80 people killed in Syria. Among those killed 40 were civilians, 18 regular soldiers, 19 rebels, 4 unidentified and foreign rebel fighters.

By province the death toll was as follow : Reef Dimashq (6 rebels, 13 civilians). Damascus (18 civilians). Aleppo (5 rebels, 4 civilians). Der’a (4 rebel, 4 civilians). Homs (1 rebel). Idlib (2 rebels). Deir Ezzour (1 civilian). Hama (1 rebels).
