Delegation from Rojava visits IHD in Amed

A delegation of executives from Afrin and Cizire cantons of Rojava, West Kurdistan, has visited the Amed branch of Human Rights Association (IHD). The delegation and officials of the association discussed the embargo imposed on the customs, drawing attention to the importance of solidarity and exchange of experiences.

Invited to the main Kurdish city by the Democratic Society Congress (DTK), the delegation of executives from Rojava is having talks and meetings with the organisations and institutions in Amed. The Rojava delegation consists of the PM of the Kobane Canton, Enver Muslim, the President of Foreign Affairs Commission of the Efrin Canton, Silêman Cafer, and the vice co-president of Cizire canton, Nezira Gewriye.

Paying a visit to the Amed branch of Human Rights Association (IHD), the delegation was welcomed by the Amed branch chair of IHD Raci Bilici and the branch secretary Abdusselam İnceören.

IHD Amed branch chair Raci Bilici who voiced satisfaction over the solidarity visit informed the delegation about the works of IHD and the human rights violations in the region.

Calling attention to the embargo and restrictions imposed on Rojava at the customs, Bilici recalled that they were not allowed to cross the border when they applied for an inspection in Rojava, and noted that the situation is the same even in the shipment of humanitarian aid from the border.

Members of the delegation put emphasis on the importance of an exchange of experiences and solidarity to ensure the removal of the embargo at the border gates and for the continuation of humanitarian help.

The delegation said they want to send teams from Rojava to North Kurdistan in the coming period in order to join the works of IHD and the other organisations working for the human rights and to learn from their experiences.
