The Iraqi Parliament Presidency Communication Office announced that the Speaker of the Parliament, Mohammed al-Holbousi, had met with a delegation from the Yazidi town of Shengal (Sinjar) in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

Accordingly, the delegation expressed the problems and needs faced by the local people in the region and offered solutions. Other issues discussed during the meeting were the issues of administration, security and refugees.

“During the meeting, the Speaker of Parliament expressed his support for the Yazidi people subjected to inhumane crimes at the hands of ISIS,” the statement said.

The delegation from Shengal also met with Iraqi parties and government officials.
