The DEM Party co-chairs issued a statement to mark the new year. They said that 2025 will be "an era of peace, democracy and brotherhood for Turkey and the region."
Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) co-chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan published a short written statement to mark the beginning of 2025.
The message said: "We are determined to make 2025 a year of peace and brotherhood. Happy new year to our people!"
The message underlined that the peoples of the world, the Middle East and Turkey, paid a great price for freedom, equality and justice, and added: "We have fought resolutely against isolation, war, economic crises and inequalities and defended our demand for a humane life under all circumstances. We are entering 2025 with hope. We will continue to fight for a just future without wars with our politics based on labor, equality and solidarity. We will continue to be the voice of the oppressed, young people, women and workers everywhere. We will continue to work for a solution to the Kurdish question. We are determined to make 2025 the year of hope and peace. This is the era of peace, democracy and brotherhood for Turkey and the region. We fully believe that we will achieve this. We celebrate the new year and wish everyone a year full of peace, freedom and prosperity."
