DEM Party delegation meets with political parties in the Parliament of Australia

The DEM Party delegation met with various political party groups in the Parliament of Australia.

A delegation of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) met with various political party groups in the Parliament of Australia.

According to the DEM Party, the delegation consisted of Ebru Günay, Co-Deputy Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee and Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki, Co-Deputy Chair of the Democratic Local Authorities Committee.

The delegation met with various political party groups in the Parliament of Australia on February 10, including Senators David Shoebridge and Jordan Steel-John of the Australian Greens, Adam Bandt, Parliamentary Leader of the Australian Greens, Mike Freelander of the Labor Party, as well as many members of parliament from liberals and independents, and exchanged views on the developments in Turkey and the Middle East.

“Our delegation provided information on the unlawful and systematic attacks against our party and shared our views on the trustee policies. We also exchanged views on the peaceful resolution of the Kurdish issue and emphasized that Turkey-Australia relations should be maintained within the framework of democracy, rule of law and respect for human rights. In addition to this, opinions and suggestions were shared for the establishment of permanent dialogue channels between the DEM Party and all political parties in Parliament of Australia, one of the components of the Global Coalition Against ISIS, in order to resolve the problems in Turkey and the Middle East. Our delegation's visit to Australia continues,” the DEM Party stated.
