While the security procedures for those detained in Mardin (Mêrdîn) during the protests that began after trustees were appointed to the Metropolitan Municipality, as well as to Batman (Êlih) and Halfeti (Xelfetî) municipalities continue, four people were referred to the courthouse. The prosecutor's office, which requested the arrest of DEM Party Youth Assembly member Hüseyin Aydın, requested judicial control for Günay Şimdi, Mehmet Dudu and Ferhan Şahin.
The three young people referred to the courthouse were released, while Aydın was sent to prison. With Aydın's arrest, the number of young people arrested in Mardin during the trustee protests increased to three.
