HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş was acquitted at the hearing held yesterday at the Mardin Midyat High Criminal Court of the case where he was charged with "propaganda of a terrorist organization" regarding the speech he made on 9 September 2015 in Midyat in order to draw attention to the curfew in Cizre on its 6th day.

The Prosecutor observed that the speech contained "no element of propaganda for a terrorist organization, or praise of violence" and the court (panel of judges) ruled for acquittal.
