HDP Co-President Selahattin Demirtaş criticized the massacre attempt in Roboski and Erdoğan’s relations with judicial figures, and saluted Gezi resistance in his speech during today’s HDP group meeting. Demirtaş stated that the Constitutional Court is expected to defend democracy and cancel the lifting of HDP parliamentarian’s immunities, and emphasized that the HDP would stop Erdoğan.
Demirtaş criticized judicial figures that went to Rize with President Erdoğan, and called upon the figures to resign for having lost their neutrality.
ÇORUM MASSACRE
In his speech, Demirtaş commemorated the people massacre in Çorum 36 years ago, and said that the massacres targeting Alevi citizens in Çorum, Dersim, Zilan, Maraş, and Sivas were based on organized lynching campaigns which would not have happened in perpetrators were punished by the state.
ROBOSKİ
The HDP Co-President noted that the Turkish state wanted to repeat the massacre against people doing border trade in Roboski, and expressed concern over the well being of DBP Şırnak administrator Hurşit Külter who disappeared after being detailned by state forces on MAy 27.
GEZİ RESISTANCE
Demirtaş commemorated Gezi Resistance and said that the resistance has not yet ended and could be viewed as the discontent of all social groups against Erdoğan’s regime in Turkey.
ERDOĞAN'S FAKE DIPLOMA
HDP Co-President Demirtaş criticized Erdoğan for interfering with everything including the judicial process and defying the constitution by claiming that there has been a de facto change in Turkey’s regime. Demirtaş questioned Erdoğan’s eligibility for the position he occupies, and recalled the debates on the authenticity of Erdoğan’s university diploma. The HDP Co-President emphasized that Erdoğan was obliged to alleviate the doubts and concerns over his eligibility as the president of Turkey.
RELATIONS WITH JUDICIAL FIGURES
Selahattin Demirtaş criticized high-ranking judicial figures participation in Erdoğan’s visits such as the one he made to Rize, and emphasized that the lack of the judiciary neutrality was no longer covert. Demirtaş called upon other judicial figures to object to Erdoğan’s interference in courts, and called upon high ranking officials to participate in the HDP rally in İstanbul this weekend if they continue to claim that participation in such events do not threaten their neutrality. Demirtaş called upon the head of the Supreme Court to resign from his position immediately because he lost his neutrality due to his support to Erdoğan.
APPLICATIONS TO THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT
Regarding the applications to the constitutional court regarding the cancelling of AKP’s decision to lift the immunities of HDP parliamentarians, Demirtaş said that they were expecting the defense of democracy not the protection of the HDP.

Demirtaş suggested that the AKP would soon bring to the Turkish parliament its proposal for enabling the president to become a political party member, and said that Erdoğan was merely trying to legitimize the criminal actions he has been taking as the authoritarian president of Turkey. The HDP Co-President underlined that the HDP would stop Erdoğan and the president would be prosecuted as soon as possible.
