Demo in Melbourne against the seizure of HDP municipalities

Protests against the seizure of HDP municipalities continue in Europe and all around the world.

A demonstration was staged in front of the University of Melbourne in protest at the AKP-MHP regime’s seizure of HDP-run municipalities in Amed, Mardin and Van by removing the elected mayors and appointing trustees in their place.

Members of the Australian Federation of Democratic Kurdish Communities, Alevi Unions Federation, Anatolian Cultural Center, Association of Turkey People and Australia For Kurdistan condemned the usurpation of the HDP-run municipalities.

A press statement made here said; “We don’t approve being an onlooker to what is happening in Turkey. We reject the policy of trustees that ignores the will of the people.”

Demonstrators gave the message “Stand up for change and freedom” as they marched to the Federation Square, chanting slogans against the authoritarian rule of Erdoğan regime.
