The Democratic Kurdish Community Centre, Amara Women’s Council and organisations from Southern Kurdistan organised a demonstration in Swedish capital city Stockholm today in protest at the occupation attacks and massacres of the Turkish state in Kurdistan territory.
Speakers at Norra Bantorget Square denounced Turkey’s massacre of civilians in Heftanin in violation of all international laws and norms. Condemning the Turkish occupation, they urged Turkey to withdraw its mercenaries from Kurdistan.
A speech made in the name of KCDK-E - Bashur (Southern Kurdistan) pointed out that Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria colonized the lands of Kurdistan, saying; “We want a co-existence with other peoples in which peace and democracy prevail.”
The activists called on Sweden and international community to take action to stop Turkey’s illegal war, and urged the Kurdistan Regional Government to stop its collaboration with the Turkish state.
Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Co-chair Ahmet Karamus said that the Turkish state, with advanced weapons and support of NATO, has intensified its genocidal attacks against Southern Kurdistan.
Karamus harshly criticised the western countries that remain silent on the massacres and attacks of the Turkish state and called on the European Union and international community to stand against Turkey’s massacres.
After the speeches, the crowd marched to the Sergelstorg Square chanting slogans such as “Long Live the Heftanin resistance”, “Bloody hands off Heftanin”, “Turkish army, get out of Kurdistan” and “Fascist, murderer Erdoğan”.
