The 47th Democracy Vigil was held in Nusaybin and was attended by a number of HDP members and citizens.
Poems and songs were read and sang during the sit-in.
HDP Deputy Ebru Günay made a statement after the sit-in. Günay stated that the people in Mardin and its districts have clearly expressed their will voting for the HDP on 31 March.
"But of course - she said - the AKP has walked over the will of the people. This city has been trying to be governed by a trustee for 47 days. But of course the trustee can't govern the city. He's just a corrupt."
The HDP deputy also reminded that the trustee is not only against the people of the city and their will, but also and especially against women and their achievements.
"We are a party that got 56 percent of the vote in Mardin. - added Günay - So no matter what you do, you will not weaken us. You will not intimidate us. We will continue to struggle for democracy. That's why we call on everyone to regroup around the HDP. Our struggle will continue until the real owners sit on those seats."
