Democratic Autonomous Administration Diplomacy Council Co-chairs Siham Qeryo and Ebdulkerîm Umer sent a letter to Arab Union Representative General Ehmed Ebû El-Xez regarding the Turkish state’s invasion in Northern Syria.
The letter says: “The events of Syria today are an unprecedented disaster for humanity. The biggest factor in things reaching this level in Syria has been the intervention by foreign powers. Most recently, Turkey has invaded Northern Syrian territory. For a short while, the invading Turkish army has conducted a vile attack on villages to the west of Manbij and utilized every technique available, including jet fighters. As a result of the attack, many civilians have fallen martyr and dozens of civilians have been injured. Civilian residences have been torn down, and citizens have been victimized. Positions controlled by Manbij Military Council fighters have been targeted in this attack and several fighters have been martyred and wounded.”
The letter also points out the following:
“These attacks took place after the villages under occupation by dark forces were liberated and YPG-YPJ and SDF announced their retreat from the region.
These attacks expose the truth of AKP government politics and their support for terrorist organization ISIS. With these attacks, Turkey targets the fight against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. They also plan to deepen the crisis in Syria and feed the conflict between armed forces to realize their Turan goals.
What we ask of you is to take up a concrete stance against the Turkish state’s invasion that violates international law.
We hope the Arab Union will fulfill their share of the duty and condemn Turkey, and pressure Turkey to pull back their forces from Syria. The Turkish state’s practices in the region are a security threat and an obstacle against the fight against terror.”
