Demonstration in solidarity with HDP in Hildesheim

A demonstration was staged in support of the HDP and its jailed deputies in Hildesheim, Germany.

Kurds and their friends living in Hildesheim city of Germany staged a demonstration in solidarity with the HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) and its jailed deputies.

The march started in front of the train station and continued until the Markt Square, with hundreds of demonstrators chanting slogans and carrying banners in support of the HDP which faces increasing attacks ahead of the June 24 elections in addition to ongoing imprisonment of its deputies.

The demonstration, organized by Martyr Meryem Women’s Commune in Hildesheim, was supported by the Kurds from Salzgitter, Braunschweig, Peine, Gifhorn and Wolfsburg.

Addressing to the crowd, Martyr Berçem Cîlo Women’s Assembly Spokesperson Hekîme Yousef said the following; “All women and mothers should take action to stop the massacres, genocide and deaths in Kurdistan. 15 thousand women have been killed under the rule of murderer Erdoğan. All women around the world should oppose this fascist ruler. We should vote fort he HDP and Selahattin Demirtaş.”

Speaking after, NAV-DEM member Altun Bischoff said; “We have a historic opportunity against fascism and dictatorship and we must make us of this opportunity. We should leave our mark on the elections and put fascism in the dustbin of history.”

NAV-DEM Co-chair Tahir Köçer, who also joined the demonstration said the following; “We must cast our vote with great morale and motivation for our people in our country”.
