DUISBURG
In Duisburg city of German, Kurds gathered in front of the Duisburg Municipality on the call of European Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) against the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan today.
A statement made during the demo recalled that the AKP fascism and Erdoğan dictatorship continued their isolation against Öcalan and the policy of his exclusion from the ongoing process systematically.
The statement also pointed out that the Kurdish leader has been arbitrarily deprived of fundamental human and political demands such as denial of lawyer visits to İmralı, family visitation, communication with phone and letter for a long while now.
"Öcalan's denial of meeting with his movement, people and family means a violation of global human rights, a heavy punishment imposed on the leader of a folk, and a strict practice of the policy to isolate him from his nation and folk. In response to this policy targeting Leader Abdullah Öcalan, we would like to state that we as the Kurdish people living in Europe and their political institutions will be in an absolute and uninterrupted struggle", read the statement.
Demonstrators later marched to the train station where a rally was held -despite the provocations of Turkish racist groups.
