Demonstrations in Belgium to condemn the Shengal genocide

The Shengal genocide of 3 August 2014 will be condemned across Belgium, and people are called upon to join the demonstrations.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the genocide on the Êzidî community three years ago, Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe (TJK-E) and Democratic Kurdish Society Center in Belgium (NAV-BEL) released a written statement on the demonstrations to be staged in Belgium, and called on the people to attend the rallies.

The written joint-statement of TJK-E and NAV-BEL is as follows:

"Êzidî women and children bear the most vivid scars of the fascism which ravages nowadays. That brutality which befell them once again, took its place as the 74th massacre decree in the history of the Êzidî community - in other words, as a genocide. The mass killing, witnessed in the 21st century, proved that the Êzidîs will only be able to survive by establishing an own Self-Defense mechanism and self-administration.

In support of such a development which would spell the demise of genocidal threats on our Êzidî communtiy, we call on the people to join the rallies which will mark the 3rd anniversary of the Shengal genocide. We call on everyone, and women in particular, to stand up for bearer of the history's roots."

People of Kurdistan and their friends will meet in the following venues and stage marches.
