The raids conducted by special operations units with panzers at 05.00 in the morning in the Şapatan village of Hakkari’s Şemdinli district are now over. Special operations units entered the Dereboyu neighborhood with 20 armored vehicles and panzers, broke windows and tore down doors of many houses and conducted searches therein.
Three villagers were detained after the raids and were taken to the Şemdinli Security Directorate.
ISTANBUL
İbrahim Kavakçıoğlu (66), his wife Lale Kavakçıoğlu (56), Dilan Turan (23) and Rewşan Ağaç (20) had been detained on September 21 in a house raid in the Kanarya neighborhood in Istanbul’s Küçük Çekmece district. Following the procedures with the police, the detainees were referred to the prosecutor’s office where they were transferred to court with a demand for their arrest. All four were later arrested for “membership to a terrorist organization”.
One of the arrestees İbrahim Kavakçıoğlu has had a total of three heart surgeries in the last year.
