“Dictators not welcome” banner on the route of Erdogan in Germany

Protests against Erdogan continue across Germany as his official visit continues.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan who is on an official visit to Germany for three days, has arrived in Cologne Saturday afternoon after meetings and talks in capital city Berlin.

Greeted on red carpet in Cologne like in Berlin, Erdogan met with North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) state Prime Minister Armin Laschet at Cologne/Bonn airport.

Erdogan later set off to attend the opening ceremony of a Religious Affairs Turkish-Islamic Union (DITIB) mosque in Ehrenfeld, Cologne. Despite the fact that the mosque is on service since 2017, it was set to be reopened to give Erdogan a chance to put on show.

A huge banner reading “Dictators not welcome” was hung on a tall building on Erdogan’s route.

Bild newspaper correspondent Metin Gülmen shared the photograph of the banner on his social media account, stating that the banner was unfurled on a building right opposite the DITIB.
