Die Linke group in Hamburg supports Guven against isolation

Die Linke group in Hamburg State Parliament led an action in solidarity with Leyla Güven.

Die Linke group in the Hamburg State Parliament  joined the civil disobedience actions in solidarity with Kurdish activists who continue their hunger strike to remove the aggravated isolation regime imposed upon Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The deputies of Die Linke went to the current session of the Parliament with banners drawing attention to the hunger strike and photographs of DTK Co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven, who became the symbol name of resistance against isolation. 

Deputies sat on their bench with banners saying in English ’84 days’, ‘Solidarity’ ile and ’#LeylaGüven’ and announced their support to the resistance launched by the Kurdish politician to remove the isolation.

The civil disobedience action that opened the session in the Parliament was led by Die Linke Group co-chairs Cansu Özdemir and Sabine Boeddinghaus. 

The deputies said that they support the demand to end “isolation against Öcalan”.

Die Linke which is one of the opposition parties of the Hamburg State Parliament, has 10 seats.
