Die Linke Taş visited hunger strikers in Berlin

Hunger strikers Cemal Kobanê, Omar Bagdu, Mele Mustafa Tuzak and Şiyar Xelil were visited by Die Linke deputy Hakan Taş in Berlin.

Taş said: “The hunger strikers’ demand is our demand,” during his visit to the German leg of the hunger strike resistance, demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Cemal Kobanê is on his 112th day of hunger strike, Ömer Bağdu on his 99th, Mele Mustafa Tuzak on his 99th and Şiyar Xelil on his 96th.

The four activists are carrying out their hunger strike at NAV-DEM premises in Berlin.

Die Linke Berlin deputy Hakan Taş was among the latest visitors to go and see the activists. He talked with them for a while, asking about their health situation and assured them that “their demand is our demand and their resistance is our resistance. Unfortunately, - he added - both Germany and Europe are still silence. The Turkish government rejected any request.”

Despite the silence of the government, said Taş, “I know you will continue to carry out this action to end isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. We will be your voice. I thank you all for your resistance. I hope that this resistance will end isolation soon.”

The hunger strikers thanked deputyTaş for his visit and underlined that their demand is a humanitarian demand. Speaking on behalf of the activists, Ömer Bağdur said: “A person who has a humanity in his heart would support these action. We believe that our resistance will achieve the result we are hoping for.”
