According to a press release by the Dortmund police, a demonstration announced for Saturday has been "banned" by the chief of police. A "Kurdish organizer" had registered a demonstration in the northern city center for 14.00 clock with about 1000 participants, the statement said.

"After careful examination, the Dortmund police chief on Friday (23 February) has prohibited the assembly because of concrete threats to public safety and order. Meetings supporting the banned PKK are banned by the Dortmund police. "
