Dozens detained in ongoing political genocide operations in 5 cities

Political genocide operations of the Turkish government have continued in Hatay, Adana, Manisa, Bursa and Ağrı provinces today.

The AKP government is continuing to carry out political genocide operations against the Kurdish people and socialist and democratic circles that refuse to surrender. Many people were detained and arrested in Hatay, Adana, Manisa, Bursa and Ağrı.

HATAY

Detentions continue to rise in the operations against HDP, EMEP, SYKP, İHD and Eğitim-Sen members, health professionals and lawyers in Hatay’s İskenderun, Samandağ and Antakya districts. Police officers have today raided the HDP Hatay provincial building and are conducting a search in the office.

The following people have been detained so far: HDP Hatay Provincial Co-chairs lawyer Şükran Cabir Dağ and Kerem Nalbant, HDP administrators Dilek Yeral Dablan, Ali Lale, and Neslihan Atanan, HDP İskenderun District Co- chair Ahmet Çağan, administrators Medya Güzel, Nevzat Güzel, Selçuk Sağlam, Aysel Eşiyok, Hülya Cengiz, Doğan Bozkurt, Nadia Ekinci, Süleyman Pörklü, Mehmet İnsan, Şükriye Kortak, İsmail Doğan, Reşat Kızılay, Fikret Pirinç, Melek Demir, Nihat Erarslan, Adnan Eryılmaz and Mehmet Karlıdağ, Alevi Bektaşi Association member Sultan Başaran, Abidin Bakır, İHD İskenderun Branch Co- chair Coşkun Selçuk, EMEP administrators Yusuf Gülşen and Mevlüt Bulgur, Eğitim Sen members İlhan Kılınç, Gülizar Çay and Nidal Çay, and SYKP administrators Talat Oruç, Tuncay Yılmaz and Ali Karasu.

The detainees were taken to Samandağ District Police Headquarters.

ADANA

Police forces carried out simultaneous raids in Adana’s Seyhan district this morning, detained many people whose names have not been clarified, and took the detainees to Adana Provincial Police Headquarters.

MANİSA

Ersin Yaşar, Sabır Güler, Maşallah Temel, Vahap Çelik and Memduh Dinekli, who had been detained in Manisa’s Turgutlu district on December 24, were charged with ‘propagating for a terrorist organization’ and were formally arrested because of the content they shared on social media.

BURSA

Bursa Provincial Police Headquarters’ Anti-Terror units detained 14 people who were accused of ‘propagating for a terrorist organization’ on social media. The detainees were referred to court after the procedures at the police station.

AĞRI

Closed Dicle News Agency (DİHA) reporter Abdullah Kaya was detained during a police raid at his house today. Police searched Kaya’s apartment for 3 hours before taking him to the District Police Headquarters.
