Dozens killed and injured in clashes in Efrin

Severe clashes between YPG (People's Defense Units) and armed groups in the western Kurdistan province of Efrin continue on the third day.

Clashes in the area reportedly broke out after armed groups attacked the villages of Ziyaret and Akibe in the town of Şerawa on 25 May.

According to ANHA news agency, three YPG fighters lost their life in clashes. According to the agency, 38 fighters of armed groups were killed and dozens of others injured in the last three days. YPG forces also destroyed two tanks and three military vehicles used by the armed groups.

On the other hand, the armed groups have reportedly detained some civilians after a road blockade near the district of Heyan between Aleppo and Efrin. A Kurdish family said they have not heard of three relatives of theirs who have recently left for Efrin from Aleppo.

According to a source informing ANHA from the village of Dart İze, armed groups have missed a passenger bus travelling from Lebanon to Efrin. The report has not been confirmed by other sources yet.
