Special units formed by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to save the local population in Raqqa continue to rescue civilians and transfer them to safe areas under their control. SDF fighters have rescued more civilians from ISIS today.
A group of civilians stepped on a mine planted by the gangs as they tried to flee the zone under ISIS control, as result of which 2 civilians lost their lives and 5 others got wounded. SDF fighters rushed the wounded civilians to hospital for treatment and bodies of the slain civilians were retrieved by the fighters.
The rescued civilians stated that there are a large number of locals trying to get out of the ISIS circle in Raqqa’s neighborhoods, noting that these people, however, cannot get flee from the ISIS-held areas due to the mines and snipers of the gangs.
