Democratic Society Congress (DTK) has released a statement calling attention to the threat of genocide being faced by the people of Kobanê under attack by ISIS gangs.

Remarking that the struggle of the Kurdish people is going through one of its most important and most critical processes, DTK stressed that ISIS intended to commit a massacre in Kobanê with the support of international powers and the reactionary powers in the region, Turkey being in the first place.

"Kobanê is facing an altogether siege and occupation the aim of which is to overwhelm the Rojava revolution and its attainments. It is clear that this plan is a joint organization of the international and regional hegemonic powers wanting to redesign the Middle East”, DTK said and underlined that the Turkish Republic provided all kinds of support, mainly military, to the ISIS.

DTK said the current situation was quite critical, adding; "Today is the day the future of our people will be determined. Whatever will be done must be done now. It is the greatest honour and duty to be a part of the history of those resisting."

DTK ended the statement by calling on all its constituents and the Kurdish people to mobilise and come to the Suruç border, to step up demonstrations and events in all areas and to defend Kobanê all together.
