In a press conference which saw the participation of DTK (Democratic Society Congress) spokesman Cemal Coskun and Permanent Council Member and BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) Diyarbakýr MP Altan Tan, the DTK informed on the undergoing preparations for the general meeting to be held on 30-31 July. Making evaluations concerning the recent political developments and the parliamentary crisis, DTK Spokesman Cemal Coþkun said the followings; "We are going through a process which may result in chaos if not solved. The responsibility of the crisis is on the AKP which intends to take people's political will as a hostage, run the process of a new constitution alone and thus ultimately create a presidential government. The election results have disappointed the AKP whose targets are now being negotiated through the Supreme Election Board (YSK) and the judiciary. The boycott decision should be maintained and deputies should stand with their people unless the unlawful implementations are ceased."
DELEGATE ELECTIONS TO BE MADE AT THE SAME DAY EVERYWHERE
Remarking that the Kurdish people are at an important stage of the process of building the Democratic Autonomy, Coskun reminded of the general delegate elections on July 24 and the general assembly elections on 30-31 July. Coskun gave information about the General Assembly Preparatory Commission which consists of 15 members, commissions responsible for expansion, a commission to prime presentations and performance reports, a technical commission and commissions responsible for the election of delegates. Coskun noted that the delegate elections will be held at the same day in all provinces, districts, neighborhoods and villages.
40 PERCENT GENDER QUOTA
Coskun listed the criteria for delegate elections as follows; " The adequacy of electing and being elected should not be ignored to provide a healthy and proper General Assembly Meeting. The elections should be made basing on the 40 percent gender quota. It should be taken into consideration that the elected delegates will elect the permanent assembly and they will be included in the commissions under the DTK. Voters should be informed about the importance of this situation.
