The delegation is being accompanied by DBP (Party of Democratic Regions, formerly BDP) Hewlêr Office representatives Cemal Coşkun and Aslan Emingül during the visit to Rojava.
The executives of the HDP, DTK and DBP were welcomed at the Sêmalka gate by a group of parliamentarians led by the deputy prime minister of Cizîrê Canton administration Hisên El-Ezam and the co-president of Legislative Assembly Nezira Gewriyê.
The delegation first visited the Yezidi people accommodated at the Newroz Refugee Camp in Derik, after which they went to the Girkê Legê city to meet the co-presidents of the Cizîrê Canton.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation after an observation of the situation of the camp and the refugees, co-mayor of Mardin Ahmet Türk firstly greeted the YPG (People's Protection Units) that didn't allow a massacre of the people in Sinjar.
Recalling that the Yezidi community has suffered great pains throughout their history in order just to protect their culture, Türk stressed that YPG forces prevented a mass murder of Yezidis by displaying a resistance worthy of the Kurdish people.
Speaking after, DTK co-chair Selma Irmak remarked that during their visit they have been able to witness in person the situation of the Yezidi refugees in Lalesh and Rania before coming to the Newroz Camp.
Irmak continued by putting emphasis on the importance of the establishment of a joint military and defence force by the people of Kurdistan.
Following talks at Newroz camp, the delegation visited the Martyr Xabat Cemetery in Dêrik.
