The Democratic Society Congress (DTK) issued a written statement to mark Human Rights Week.
The statement said: "Every capitalist hegemony crisis brings wars, death and human rights abuse of migrants," and added: "The stage the political demands of the Kurdish people and the hundred-year struggle has come to deepens and forces the solution of the current crisis."
The statement underlined the need to remove isolation in Imralı: "The crisis in the Middle East is based on the isolation in Imralı Prison. In our opinion, Mr. Öcalan's proposals for solution to both the Middle East and the Kurdish issue are the main reason for this isolation. Insisting on isolation policy is a way for the government to maintain this chaos."
Recalling that the 15 July coup attempt has provided the government with the possibility to build a one-man regime, the statement underlined that "even the minimum democratic conditions have been destroyed" and that "repression and arrests in the field of democratic politics, denial of the people's will through trustees, disproportionate force practices on the right to march, demonstration and protest are all signs of AKP-MHP fascism administrative crisis."
The DTK also underlined that the continous "violations of rights in all prisons, especially in Imralı prison, are now unacceptable. The continuation of the isolation in Imralı is equivalent to the continuation of war and chaos."
Nowhere in the world, said the statement, "there is such a inhumane practice as the isolation in Imralı prison. The government must immediately abandon the unlawfulness of both the Imrali prison and all the prisons in general."
The DTK finally called on human rights institutions and all national and international groups to protest isolation.
