Dutch police seek suspect of Turkish origin after Utrecht attack

Dutch police reportedly seek a suspect of Turkish origin following Monday’s attack in Utrecht city which killed 3 and wounded many.

Utrecht city of the Netherlands was shaken by an armed attack earlier today, which reportedly claimed the life of 3 people and left many others wounded.

In the wake of the attack, Dutch police published the photograph of a suspect who was announced to be 37 years old Gökmen Tanış of Turkish origin. An official hotline has been launched to help the capture of the suspect.

Amid reports of gunshots in several locations across the city, police have mobilized all means to capture the suspect.

Intense security measures have been taken around the airport and central areas and officials proposed closing the schools.

The attack which was carried out at 14 October Square is thought to be a “terrorist attack”.
