EH Bildu Senator, Gorka Elejabarrieta strongly rejected the new attacks carried out by Turkey against Kurds in Rojava and North Iraq. 

Elejabarrieta said: “We firmly reject the new attacks launched by Turkey against Rojava and North Iraq. Turkey is once again targeting the Kurdish people and in particular the city of Kobane, which defeated the Islamic State in 2015. These attacks are in violation of international and humanitarian law and we therefore ask Turkey to stop targeting civilians. The international community and, in particular, the European Union as well as the Spanish state, should firmly condemn these attacks. Tomorrow, Monday, we will bring the issue to the Senate. Likewise, EH Bildu will organize initiatives to denounce the attacks in the institutions of the Basque Country.”
