Within the scope of the political operation launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, eight people were taken into custody in Ankara in the morning hours.
According to a statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the detainees were charged with "participating in illegal organization activities held within the borders of Ankara" and of carrying out "propaganda" for an illegal organization via social media.
Among those detained were Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Party Assembly member Pakize Sinemillioğlu and former United Transport Workers Union (BTS) General Secretary Nazım Karakurt.
