Eleven lawyers of the Contemporary Lawyers’ Association (ÇHD) have been arrested on Monday following the wide operation which ended up with the detention of 55 people, including 15 lawyers of the ÇHD on Friday.

The office of the Association was also raided in Friday's operation which was conducted by vice chief prosecutor of Istanbul and targeted members of the left group DHKP/C as well. Selçuk Kozaðaçlý, the President of the Association, was taken into custody at Atatürk Airport on Sunday soon after his return from Syria where he held talks with various circles.

ÇHD President Kozaðaçlý, ÇHD Istanbul Branch Chair Taylan Tanay and ÇHD Ankara Branch Chair Betül Vangölü Kozaðaçlý are also among the lawyers arrested today in Istanbul. The names of others lawyers arrested are, Güçlü Sevimli, Naciye Demir, Þükriye Erden, Ebru Timtik, Barkýn Timtik, Serhan Arýkanoðlu, Güray Dað and Gülvin Aydýn.

An arrest warrant has also been issued for lawyer Oya Aslan, member of the ÇHD Executive Board, who accompanied Kozaðaçlý during his visit to Syria.
