Thirty-two members of the ESP (Socialist Party of the Oppressed) have been referred to court on Thursday.
Sixty seven members and executives of the party had been taken into custody following simultaneous police raids targeting the houses of party members in Istanbul early Tuesday morning. The operation was carried out in connection with Gezi Park protests.
Thirty five others will be taken to court tomorrow.
In a written statement condemning the operation, People's Democratic Congress (HDK) commented the raids and detentions as an operation of revenge.
Democratic Society Congress (DTK) also comdemned the raids targeting Gezi Park protestors and said the operation against the party targeted all democracy powers in the country. DTK pointed out that the practices of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his AKP government sabotaged the democratic solution process.
In an interview to ANF, Kurdish Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council President Murat Karayılan said they took the actions against ESP and SDP (Socialist Democracy Party), which has also been particularly targeted by police, as actions against the Kurdish movement. Karayılan said these operations served for not a solution but a deadlock.
