The European Parliament is to host a conference on “ISIS attacks on Kobanê and their effects on the region” on 4 November. 

A conference is being organised in the European Parliament on 4 November, entitled “ISIS attacks on Kobanê and their effects on the region”.

The conference, at which PYD Co-President Salih Muslim is to speak, will be opened by Gabriele Zimmer, the leader of the Left Group, Green MEP Bart Staes and Adem Uzun from the Kurdistan National Congress.

Left Group MEP Marie-Chiristine Vergiat will chair the event, at which a presentation entitled “Why Kobanê?” will be presented by Green MEP Bodil Ceballos, followed by a presentation by Kamran Matin from the University of Sussex on “International forces in the region and the role of Turkey”, after which an MEP will make a presentation on “The outcomes of the battle for Kobanê on the region and Europe”.

PYD Co-President Salih Muslim will evaluate the latest situation in Kobanê.

The conference will take place between 15:00 and 18:30 on 4 November.
