Eyes on the historic Newroz in Amed

Eyes have been turned on the historical Newroz Day in Amed on 21 March when the Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan will make a call on the military and political aspects of the solution to the Kurdish problem.

The mass celebration to take place in Amed will have high level of participation by a large number of circles including those from Kurdistan, European and Latin American countries.

Around 400 journalists have been accredited for the mass meeting so far, among whom 150 are from foreign press. The number is expected to increase to 500 till the Newroz Day.  

Around two million people are expected to join the historic Newroz meeting which has been jointly organized by Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) and Democratic Society Congress (DTK). BDP stated that five thousand people have been charged for the organization.

The Newroz in Amed will be joined by a number of circles from international area including executives of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan from Federal Kurdistan Region, Goran Movement General President Nawshirwan Mustafa, Goran Executive in Hewler Birzo Mecid,  Goran Executive for  Interior and Exterior Affairs Dr. Süleyman, Kurdistan Shuui Party's Executive Council members, Kurdistan Union of Islamic Groups Executive Council members, Yekiti Niştimani Demokratiki Kurdistan's Executive Council members, Workers Party Executive Council member, Kurdistan Party for Democratic Solution executives, Kurdistan Union Party executives, High Kurdish Council executives, Iran Kurdistan Democratic Party executives, 60-people delegation from the Union of Free and Equal Citizens and a 12-people group of academics.

Among those joining from European and Latin American countries are Mary Medina Zabaleta,  Mary Medina Zabaleta, Rossemery Carlo Lucas, Zonia Guardia Melgar from Bolivia, four Italian delegations including diplomats, parliamentarians, academics, NGOs and journalists, European Parliament Kurds Friendship Group member Jürgen Klüte, Denmark's Red-Green Party member Nikolaj Villumsen, Copenhagen City Council member Allan Ahmad, Basque Sortu Executive of Foreign Affairs Gorka Elejabarrieta,  New Cyprus Party General Secretary Murat Kanatlı,  Roja Darian from Norwegian Workers Party,  a 12-people delegation of city council members from the German Left Party.

Hundreds of political parties, foundations, unions, artists, academics and NGOs are expected to join the Newroz of Amed on 21 March.
