Families of prisoners call for mobilization

"It is high time we do not speak but take to the streets. Our sole agenda is to keep the resistance going unabated until we achieve a result," said families of the prisoners on hunger strike.

Families of prisoners on hunger strike called for public mobilization as prisoners have turned their indefinite hunger strike into death fast, demanding the end of the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Families who gathered at the HDP offices in Amed (Diyarbakır), released a declaration following a meeting where evaluations were made.

The declaration said the following;

“The demands of our children are our demands. We trust that the resistance will continue with determination until it has achieved its goal. We as families and mothers of prisoners on hunger strike, invite Kurdish, Turkish, Laz, Circassian, Arab and all other peoples living in this country, all the democratic institutions and establishments, all people with a conscience, all political parties and civil society organizations, as well as democrats, intellectuals and writers to mobilization.

It is high time we do not speak but take to the streets. Our sole agenda is to keep the resistance going unabated until we achieve a result.”
