Families request telephone call and visit to Imrali
On the occasion of the Feast of Sacrifice, the relatives of Abdullah Öcalan and the three other prisoners isolated on Imrali applied for permission to make a telephone contact and a prison visit.
On the occasion of the forthcoming Feast of Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha), the relatives of Abdullah Öcalan, Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş have submitted requests to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Bursa. The relatives suggested a visit date between 31 July and 3 August. They also requested a telephone conversation with the prisoners between 31 July and 7 August.
A telephone conversation with the prisoners on Imrali was possible once only on April 27. Ömer Hayri Konar and Veysi Aktaş had only three family visits in their five years of imprisonment on Imrali, while Hamili Yıldırım could even see his relatives only twice. The last family visit was possible on 3 March 2020.
