Family visited hunger striker Şiyar Xelil

Mele Mustafa Tuzak has reached day 121 of his fast, while Cemal Kobanê and Ömer Bağdur have reached day 86. 

Cemal Kobanê, Ömer Bağdur, Mele Mustafa Tuzak and Şiyar Xelil are on hunger strike in Berlin.

They have joined the hunger strike resistance led by the DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven,demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Mele Mustafa Tuzak has reached day 121 of his fast, while Cemal Kobanê and Ömer Bağdur have reached day 86. 

The fourth hunger striker, Şiyar Xelil, has been on hunger strike for 89 days. The Democratic Kurdish Community Center (NAV-DEM) is being visited by many people who want to express their solidarity. 

The family of Şiyar Xelil, who lived in Odense, Denmark, visited the activists. Speaking during the visit, Xelil's uncle's daughter, Fadila Xelil and his uncle's son Hurşit Xelil said that they were proud that their cousins ​​had taken part in this historic resistance.

First time they met in 15 years

During their visit, the family members said that they had met with Şiyar Xelil for the first time in 15 years. The Xelil family, who called on the people of Kurdistan and the European public to embrace hunger strike actions, said: “We wanted to strengthen Şiyar morale with this visit, we believe that we have succeeded in doing so. We hope that the activists reach their goals and the isolation on the Kurdish People's Leader is lifted.”

Şiyar Xelil expressed his appreciation for the visit and said: “Seeing my relatives after so many years made me very happy. It is important that families take care of us and not leave us alone. Because we are doing this on their behalf too. We think victory is close and isolation will be ended soon.”

Şiyar Xelil, who is from Derik in Rojava, had previously been on hunger strike in Nuremberg. Although he had suffered from serious health problems on different occasions, Xelil said he was determined to continue the hunger strike.
