FARC Senator Sandino: Stop the killings of former FARC guerrillas

Already 115 former guerrillas and family members have been killed since the signing of the Final Peace Agreement in 24 November 2016.

Senator Victoria Sandino, from the FARC party, demanded that the National Government give priority to address and take measures to prevent the murders of former FARC-EP guerrillas “which have gone beyond any limit" with the murder of seven-month-old baby Samuel David González, in the Maicao zone in the Guajira.

"To the father and mother of the child - said Sandino - goes our message of solidarity, but to the Government, to the Prosecutor Office, to the Colombian State we demand first to shade light on what happened and that justice be done but above all we asked that they guarantee the life of our comrades, the social leaders and children, because the hope of peace on which the Colombian people have bet cannot continue to be killed. We want to turn the page of war forever.”

The FARC party senator added that it is time for the Government to act immediately to put an end to the killings of former guerrillas. Already 115 former guerrillas and family members have been killed since the signing of the Final Peace Agreement in 24 November 2016.

Carlos Enrique González, father of Samuel, the 7-month-old baby who died after an attack against his parents in Maicao (La Guajira), asked to carry out a proper investigation.
