Farewell to veteran HPG fighter

Serhat Göksu (Senar) who was injured while fighting in the ranks of the HPG (People’s Defence Forces) and was sent to Germany for medical treatment, has passed away in Hamburg.
Born in the Karayazı district of Erzurum province, Göksu was seriously injured in his liver during an armed clash in Yüksekova district of Hakkari.
Göksu first stayed in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) for a long time after he had been injured in battle. He had been living in Hamburg for the past two years for treatment. The veteran guerrilla was taken to a hospital after his condition worsened and passed away there.
Numerous people attended the farewell ceremony in the town of Stade.
Speaking here, KON-MED co-spokesperson Zübeyde Zümrüt said that they will continue honouring Göksu's memory in their struggle. KON-MED co-spokesperson Engin Seven said, “Göksu took part in all actions and never dropped out of the struggle.”
Speeches were also made during the ceremony on behalf of the Youth Movement, KOMAW, and FED-DEM.
Göksu's coffin was carried by his young comrades and sent to Karayazı where he was laid to rest following a funeral ceremony.
