Following the march from Finch&Kell -where Kurdish Association is located- to the city center, which lasted 6 hours, a press statement was read out, stressing that the international conspiracy and aggravated isolation of Öcalan were unacceptable. Families of Canadian fighters who fell in the freedom struggle also made speeches.

In Sydney, Australia, Kurds and their friends held a protest demonstration to mark the 18th anniversary of the international conspiracy against the Kurdish leader.

Demonstrators handed out leaflets detailing the conspiracy, and held speeches in English and Kurdish telling about the process of Öcalan's captivity.

Protestors called attention to the importance of Öcalan for the resolution of the Kurdish question in Turkey, emphasising that the resistance of the Kurdish leader and Kurdish people have foiled the conspiracy.

Speeches that called upon everyone to make more efforts for Öcalan's freedom were followed by a statement on behalf of the Organising Committee that demanded the immediate release of the Kurdish leader for peace in Turkey, Kurdistan and the Middle East.
