FEDA co-chair Demir Çelik stated that the 14 May elections are of great strategic importance for the oppressed, the poor, the laborers, "The next century needs to evolve into a democratic republic, and in a democratic republic, society's multiple identities, multiple cultures, and self-government must be transformed into an opportunity."
Demir Çelik said that if the Green Left Party wins 100-120 deputies, "the Kurds will have a serious impact on the next legislature. We will pave the road to a democratic republic."
Hasan Dersim, spokesperson of the European Democratic Peoples' Confederation, said that the 14 May elections should be considered as an opportunity to end oppression in a country where people's differences are not recognized and those who think differently are imprisoned, persecuted and tortured.
"Of course, this election will not solve everything, but at least it will be a step we will take in terms of our struggle for democracy. Voting for the Green Left Party means taking an important step in the struggle for democracy against the fascist dictatorship."
AABF Baden-Württemberg regional president Sedat Bican, on the other hand, asked everyone to be sensitive and use their vote to end the one-man period and the dictatorship in Turkey.
Bican called for a vote for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in the Presidential election and for the Labor and Freedom Alliance in the parliamentary elections.
