The government of Federal Kurdistan Region has released a written statement in support of the historic peace call Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan made on 21 March Newroz Day.

In the statement KRG said that they have always supported a peaceful solution to the Kurdish question in Turkey. "In this respect, we approve and support the message Mr. Öcalan gave in Amed's Newroz for a peaceful solution and an end to the war and violence", it said.

KRG said that they would provide contribution to any step that PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) and the Turkish government will take for a peaceful and democratic solution.

KRG ended the statement saying that it was ready to play its part for the solution of the Kurdish question.
