YPG (People's Defense Units) Press Centre reported in a written statement about the ongoing fighting in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava, that ISIS attacks aiming to occupy the town continued for the 61st day. Fierce clashes have taken place on three fronts in the besieged town.

According to the YPG statement, violent clashes erupted on the eastern front where ISIS gangs carried out an attack from the borderline. 11 gang members, including an emir (leader), were killed in the fighting.

The YPG Press Centre stated that clashes on the southern front erupted late yesterday evening and continued all day long, adding that the number of casualties on ISIS side couldn't be made clear.

The statement said that YPG forces also carried out actions against gang groups deployed in villages to the west of Kobanê. 1 member of the gangs as far as ascertained was killed in clashes.

The statement added that 4 YPG fighters have fallen putting up a brave fight against the gangs in the last 24 hours of clashes.
