Fierce fighting took place between the army of Bashar al-Assad and Kurdish fighters, in Aleppo, leaving many killed.
Many civilians were victims of the bombing carried out by the Syrian army in the neighborhood of Achrafieh, where the majority of residents are Kurds. Pro-regime militias continued to kill civilians with sniper rifles.
Between 8 and 10 February, at least 35 soldiers and pro-regime militiamen were killed and over 70 others were injured in clashes with Kurdish forces, say reports coming from sieged Achrafieh.
For its part, the People's Defence Units (YPG) announced on February 10 to have lost a total of seven fighters among its ranks.
The YPG said in a statement that its fighters will not allow any armed group entering Kurdish areas and will respond firmly to any attack against civilians. In Kurdish cities in Kurdistan Syria, thousands of people took to the streets to protest against the regime's attacks.
Media and Western governments that denounce attacks carried out by the Syrian army against other regions in Syria, are playing the three monkeys when it comes to Kurds.
Since the beginning of the revolt, which soon turned into a power struggle following the intervention of foreign countries in forming and financing armed groups, Kurds refused to take part in the sabotage of the revolution.
Adopting a third way, that of a peaceful revolt and for a democratic inclusive Syria that respects the legitimate demands of the people, the Kurds have started to implement their democratic autonomy project.
