Fifteen Kurdish students taken into custody

At least 15 students were taken into custody in the western province of Kocaeli as a result of simultaneous police raids targeting 20 separate addresses on Tuesday morning .

The detained students of Kocaeli University are accused of being members of Kurdish Communities Union (KCK) and Democratic Patriotic Youth (DYG) organizations. Books of Kurdish writers Mehmet Uzun and Ýsmail Beþikçi, as well as Palestinian scarfs and computers at the raided houses were seized by police as criminal evidences. Detained students were taken to Anti-Terror Branch of Kocaeli Police Headquarters.
